Why Accuracy Matters
At-home tests can sometimes lead to confusion or false results, especially if taken too soon. Our tests accurately detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). You’ll receive your results during the same visit and have time to review them privately with one of our nurses.
If you’ve missed a period or experienced other symptoms like fatigue, nausea, or tender breasts, it’s a good idea to take a test. Most healthcare professionals recommend waiting at least a day after a missed period before testing to allow hCG levels to rise.
Testing first thing in the morning can also help improve accuracy since urine is most concentrated at that time. If your result is negative but your symptoms continue, we recommend retesting after a few days.
If your test is positive, you may qualify for a no-cost limited OB ultrasound to confirm important details, including:
- How far along you are (gestational age)
- Whether the pregnancy is progressing
- If the pregnancy is located in the uterus
